The 21-year-old Romanian currently plays for Romanian club Fotbal Club Steaua București. He currently has two appearances with the Romanian national team.
Chicago fires 25 year old defender/midfielder Matt Polster has officially made his deal to join steven gerrards Scottish giants rangers fc in Glasgow as he has completed his work permit by reports. the former Chicago fire player said in a report "This is something that I’ve always dreamed about doing," Polster said, via the official club site. "As a little boy, a lot of people would know that I wanted to play in Europe, before even going to MLS. To finally do it, for this kind of club has left me feeling speechless in a way." The 25-year-old made 82 appearances across four seasons with Chicago, though missed most of 2018 with an injury.
Polster will be far from the first American to feature for Rangers, following Claudio Reyna, DaMarcus Beasley, Maurice Edu and Carlos Bocanegra before him.

As another disappointing season comes to a close, the fans and players are full of disappointment. The fans in particular have lost all hope, and with the retirement of Alan Gordon, Brandon Vincent, and Christian Dean, their chances of becoming a successful franchise had seemed to have ceased.
The Fire didn't want their fans to lose hope just yet. In December of 2018, the fire acquired forward Fabian Herbers from the Philadelphia Union, although no one seemed to give much attention to this news, the Fire didn't stop there. That same month, they signed Sporting Portugal's Marcelo Ferreira.
This helped the fans keep their heads high, but the next day fan favorite Jonathan Campbell had left the fire for the Seattle Sounders. Not long after, dutch forward Micheal De Leeuw had also left the fire for the Netherlands. Two fan favorites were now gone, and the fans had again lost their hope.
Later, the fire had announced that they have re-signed head coach Veljko Paunovic. Pauno is now entering his fourth season with the Fire. He led Chicago into the playoffs in 2017, but fell 4-0 to Bradley Wright Phillip's New York Red Bulls in the Knockout Round.
The MLS Super Draft had approached and the Fire had acquired Ebenzer Ackon, Grant Stoneman, Mark Forrest, and Amando Moreno. The Fire continued to add to their roster, as they signed Przemyslaw Frankowski, Jeremiah Gutjahr, Cristian Martinez, and Andre Reynolds II. All the pieces were coming together, but one important piece seemed to be missing. Recently the Fire acquired MLS veteran goalkeeper David Ousted, a huge signing that brings fire fans a sign that this could be the season the men in red prove that the Chicago Fire will no longer be seen as one of the worst in the league. Can the Fire bring the Cup to the Windy City?!
Andrew Gutman has been tipped to join Celtic ever since he had a trial with their biggest rivals Rangers. According to recent reports the deal has fallen through. Gutman seemed destined to sign with Celtic after Nelson Rodriquez said "He was offered a contract and chose not to accept it. He decided to go with the offer from Celtic so good luck to him." Gutman reportedly accepted the deal, but something must have happened for him or Celtic to pull out. If he doesn't sign with Celtic I think the Fire should try to and offer him another contract. He plays in a position of massive need for the Fire and has a great potential. Where do you guys see Andrew Gutman going.
In the 2017 playoffs vs the New York New Bulls Djordje Mihailovic suffered a torn ACL. This injury kept him out for most of the 2018 season. Even with him only playing in 9 games he still impressed massively scoring 1 beautiful goal and racking up 4 assists. His performances got him a call up to the USMNT January camp. Were he is said to have very much impressed the coaches. This earned him his first cap for the USA versus Panama and in this game you scored his first international goal. I'm looking forward to see what you can do for the Fire this season.
Official: Chicago Fire announced today that it has claimed goalkeeper David Ousted off waivers. Ousted is under contract with the Fire for the 2019 MLS season with a Club option for the 2020 season. He will occupy an international spot on the Fire’s roster. Ousted, 33, enters his first campaign with the Fire after spending five seasons (2013-17) with Vancouver Whitecaps FC and one season (2018) with D.C. United, tallying 159 games played (159 starts). Since entering MLS in 2013, Ousted has compiled the third-most shutouts (42) in the league, including an MLS career-high 13 shutouts in the 2014 and 2015 seasons. He has also been named to the MLS All-Star roster twice (2015, 2016) in the last four seasons.
Andrew Gutman was ranked as one of the best college players this year. He was in the Chicago Fire academy for many years so that meant the Fire had the rights too sign him. The problem is they didn't try to sign him. Instead they tried to shop around his rights to other MLS teams, This seems absurd to me he plays in one of our positions of need and he is a very good player. Now it seems as if he is going to join one of the best teams in Scotland, Celtic. I just think he had so much potential and we should have at least offered him a contract.
As the season fasts approaches the Fire are still in need of a new goalkeeper. Stefan Cleveland who started most of the games at the end of season put up some decent performances. He is still very young and still makes some mistakes. Richard Sanchez started most the games at the beginning of the season he also put up some decent performances. He also has been prone to make many mistakes. The Fire need to sign a goalkeeper if they don't they sign a keeper it will be the same old last place Fire.
Official: Just as I reported yesterday, Brazilian defender Marcelo dos Santos Ferreira has officially signed for Chicago Fire and will most likely be a starting defender for Chicago Fire. He joined Sporting CP in May, 2018. He has failed to make a single league appearance for the team since joining. The 29-year-old Brazilian played most of his career in Rio Ave from 2011-2018.
