Rumor: According to multiple reports, Colorado Rapids are set to fire head coach Anthony Hudson and hire Conor Casey as their new head coach. Anthony Hudson joined Colorado Rapids in 2017. After multiple poor results, he has finally been fired after 9 games with Colorado Rapids this season who have only 2 points and are yet to win their first game of the season.
The Rapids are 0-2-4 after 6 games and while the attack is looking great, the defense is, not looking the best in the league at least. With the transfer window still open something needs to be decided. You could go the route of signing a new player and the options would be: sign a new Winger or Central Mid DP that can be a leader and organize the team, sign a strong CB leader or sign a true LB. You could also say fire the coach and bring in a more experience manager but I think Hudson needs time with his squad and this isnt the right route, yet. The final option is to just say its early in the season, Hudson is learning his players, shuffle the lineup and give it 2 more weeks before saying we need to make a big change.
I'd say either sign a true LB and switch formations and play Serna as a LW or sign a strong CB. Either way we need to sign someone in this transfer window. In the summer transfer window we should sign a verbal DP mid.

BREAKING: The Colorado Rapids have signed MLS Veteran Center Back Kofi Opare for the 2019 season. The 28-year-old has a total of 77 Appearances since coming to the league in 2013. Thoughts?!
The Colorado Rapids are now officially 1 week away from kicking off there 2019 campaign. Lets dive in and take a look at the roster.
Goalkeepers - In the goalkeeping unit we have three keepers, two of which are veterans. Expect Tim Howard to play most of the season and Irwin to be the back up. Andre Rawls has never made an MLS appearance in his life....
Defenders - The Rapids should be fairly strong when it come to defense. The club picked up right-back Keegan Rosenberry during the offseason and as long as Kortne Ford can stay healthy then we are good. The defense should look something like:
Serna - Ford - Sjoberg - Rosenberry
Sjoberg will probably only start until Tommy Smith recovers from an injury that should have him sidelined for the first 5 games. There is plenty of depth in the back with Wynne & Wilson available.
Midfielders- Ok. This is where it gets interesting. I love Cole Bassett and I want him to play as much as possible this year but the Rapids also have veteran Benny Feilhaber and English mid Jack Price on the books. Kellyn Acosta is already a fan favorite and will be starting when healthy. Price and Feilhaber will alternate starting most games but Bassett and Boateng can cover for an injury or just to give them some rest. (Johan Blomberg is 3rd string)
Forwards - Ooh. I'm excited for the goalscoring this season. The Rapids have MLS proven goal scorers in Diego Rubio and Kei Kamara and then they also have Andre Shinyashiki. I love Shinyashiki and if he can get himself some minutes then he could be a candidate for Rookie of the Year. (The Brazillian scored 28 goals in college soccer last season). Homegrown Matt Hundley and Gashi are just one call away from starting so they will get there chances. Nicolas Mezquida will either come off the bench for Shinyashiki or the other way around almost every game.
What do you think about this season?
The 39 year old goalkeeper has announced he will retire following this MLS season. Tim Howard spent 13 seasons in the premier league and played 121 games for the USMNT. Can Tim capture an MLS Cup with the Rapids in his last year?
The Colorado Rapids have turned down a $3M bid from Championship side Norwich City for midfielder Kellyn Acosta. In 6 MLS seasons, the 23-year-old midfielder has 11 goals and 15 assists in 129 appearances for Colorado and FC Dallas. Should Colorado consider selling the USMNT midfielder?
The Colorado Rapids started off Friday by trading up to get the 5th overall pick. The Rapids sent $100,000 of General Allocation Money and the 15th overall pick to the Chicago Fire in exchange for the pick. With the 5th pick the Rapids selected University of Denver forward Andre Shinyashiki. Shinyashiki is a player that the Rapids know well and that fits into their system. Expect Andre to start a couple games next to Diego Rubio and Kei Kamara next season. The Rapids used the the #28 overall pick to select defender Marcello Borges out of the University of Michigan. Marcello has made 11 appearances for US Youth National teams. If Borges signs with the Rapids, expect him to be loaned out to the Switchbacks for the first season as he still needs to develop some more MLS necessary skills. The final player the Rapids selected in the draft was Jacob Hauser-Ramsey. Hauser-Ramsey played college soccer with the University of Connecticut and what what I've watched, he looks like he could/will be an MLS caliber player. Hauser-Ramsey was predicted to be picked earlier in the draft so it is considered a steal that the Rapids were able to pick him up #42 overall. Jacob is in a similar situation to Marcello Borges. The UConn defender will most likely play a couple games early on in the season before being loaned out. I do think that Jacob Hauser-Ramsey is closer to MLS level than Marcello Borges.
