16 year old LA Galaxy Midfield Efrain Alvarez has been called up to the Mexico U-17s for the fourth time this year. The team is preparing for the UC Cup in Chile where they will play their opening game next Wednesday against Paraguay. The finals will be held on December 15th and 16th.
Former LA Galaxy player Robbie Keane has announced his retirement from professional soccer. The Irishman scored over 390 goals in his career at the international and club level. Robbie was signed as a designated player in 2011 after an amazing three seasons at Tottenham Hotspur. Robbie won 3 MLS Cups with the Galaxy and the 2014 MLS MVP award while tallying up an impressive 104 goals in 165 apperarences in Los Angeles. Robbie Keane is one of the greatest Galaxy players ever and will forever be remembered as a LA Galaxy legend.
RUMOR: Multiple sources have stated that current Director of National Teams for Mexico, Dennis te Kloese, is very close to joining the LA Galaxy as the new Director of Soccer Operations. te Kloese has worked at a number of clubs in the past including Tigres, Chivas Guadalajara, and Chivas USA and he has years of experience at both club and international levels. Dennis is known for his expertise in youth development but also has good connections to high caliber players, both of which could be beneficial to the Galaxy. Would this be a good hire for the Galaxy?
